Christina Bloom

 

Why is Christina Bloom significant? Because she was the UK’s first female press photographer, and she spent her life capturing everything from military images to daily life in the city of London including the Royal Family.

That by itself is fascinating, but even more astonishing is the fact that Broom didn’t start photography until she was 40, when she started off learning on a camera borrowed from a friend.
